Turkey Shoots Down a Syrian Fighter Plane

Two Turkish F-16s flying Combat Air Patrol fired a missile at the Syrian jet in accordance with the rules of engagement 1314.

The incident happened at the vicinity of Camli Hill Border Outpost area in Yayladag,Hatay a Turkish airspace.

In a media statement on the incident, Turkish General Staff said two Syrian military jets are involved, and that they had been "warned four times" that they were approaching Turkish airspace.

According to the report, the plane pilot was able to eject as it fell in the vicinity of Kesab of Syrian soil 1,200m south of the border.
