Task scammers pose as Shopee Mall or HR Recruitment Team representatives to offer part-time or full-time jobs. These fraudsters first provide victims with simple tasks to establish trust before demanding money transfers and offering big financial benefits.
Prize scammers, on the other hand, send text messages with malicious links to have consumers claim a company-sponsored contest prize. Scammers can obtain names, addresses, and bank information from people who click these links and provide their information, potentially resulting in financial theft or extortion.
Shopee is committed to online safety for all. Users should be cautious when sharing information and making online purchases. To avoid scams, Shopee highlights the following points:
They will never ask you to send money in exchange for employment. You'll find all job openings only on their official Shopee Careers page (https://ift.tt/wYNPGiu).
They do not send links for prize claims through SMS or messaging apps. If you win a contest, you can only find the official announcement in the Shopee app or its verified social media pages and channels.
You should be cautious and never give unknown senders your name, address, age, phone number, or bank information. PINs, OTPs, and account passwords should also be kept private.
Always keep your transactions within the Shopee app. This helps you make secure payments, communicate easily, track your orders, and take advantage of Shopee's buyer protection.
