DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said the office owes the expansion in arrivals to the endeavors of partners in the private sector just as the local government units (LGUs).

"This is empowering even as we anticipate the fruition of the measurements assembled for the long stretch of September. The union methodology of the DOT with other government organizations and its accomplices in the business is demonstrating successful in extending travel network while welcoming more voyagers to come and visit through all the more luring the travel industry items and bundles," Puyat said Sunday in an announcement.

The quantity of tourist appearances has outperformed the 5,000,000 imprint in August 2019 to practically 5.6 million, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.

The DOT recorded 5,554,950 inbound tourist visitors from January to August 2019, or 14.08 percent higher than a year ago's 4,869,417.

For August alone, the DOT said tourist appearances expanded 27.54 percent to 702,843 contrasted with a year ago's 551,088.

South Korea keeps on being the nation's top visitor market enlisting 185,334 travelers in August alone, the DOT said.

Behind South Korea are China 170,903, Japan with 78,699 and the US with 68,418 for the long stretch of August.
