In an advisory, Globe said it had completed service restoration in 98 percent of areas that experienced network outages as a result of the power failure caused by severe tropical storm Kristine.
As of October 27, 2024, Globe Telecom reported that its call, text, and data services are 100 percent restored in a total of 34 provinces:
Northern and Central Luzon:
- Abra
- Apayao
- Bataan
- Benguet
- Bulacan
- Cagayan
- Ifugao
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Isabela
- Kalinga
- La Union
- Mountain Province
- Nueva Ecija
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Pampanga
- Tarlac
- Zambales
Southern Luzon:
- Batangas
- Camarines Norte
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Marinduque
- Masbate
- Occidental Mindoro
- Oriental Mindoro
- Quezon
- Rizal
- Romblon
Visayas:
- Biliran
- Eastern Samar
- Leyte
- Northern Samar
- Southern Leyte
On the other hand, restoration efforts are underway and close to completion in these provinces where several Globe cell sites experienced outages due to power failure:
- Albay
- Camarines Sur
- Catanduanes
- Pangasinan
- Sorsogon
- Samar
Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe, said:
We're happy to report that, as of today, we have restored services in the majority of provinces where our sites experienced downtime due to commercial power failure. Our personnel are doing their best to complete restoration work in a few remaining sites in provinces severely affected by the storm.
Moreover, Globe deployed a Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charge (Free Call, Free Charge) site in Naga City on Sunday, as electricity has yet to be restored in the area.
Globe Telecom earlier provided connectivity support in areas hit by typhoon Kristine by offering free unli calls, texts, and mobile data for Globe Prepaid and TM users. The telco also extended the due dates for mobile and broadband postpaid subscribers.
Globe continues to encourage its customers to donate their Globe Rewards points to relief efforts by utilizing the GlobeOne app.
