Operation Apocalypse, a sci-fi 5v5 tactical shooter, will shut down its China server on December 12, 2024, NetEase Games announced.
According to the developer, the main reason for the game's closure is "Due to strategic adjustments in game development and operations."
Here are parts of the official announcement titled "Suspension of Operation Apocalypse," which was shared on their Discord channel.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and passion for "Operation Apocalypse." Due to strategic adjustments in game development and operations, we regret to inform you that "Operation Apocalypse" will cease operations as of December 12, 2024, at 15:00 (China Standard Time).
Below are the details regarding this closure: October 14, 2024, at 14:00 (CST): All download links across platforms will be closed. At this time, new player registrations and in-game purchases will no longer be available. December 12, 2024, at 15:00 (CST): Official termination of game services, including the shutdown of all servers.
From the time of this announcement until the final shutdown on December 12, unused Star Stones in your accounts will remain accessible for use.
They also provided details of the Closure Benefits Package offered to the players.

Also, by October 14, 2024, 17:00 (CST), any unused paid Star Stones (specifically those purchased with legal currency) will be converted into equivalent points. These points will be stored in the player's NetEase email/phone account as compensation and can be used in other NetEase games.

Benefit 3 (exclusive to NetEase official Android users): To provide a better experience for Operation Apocalypse players, NetEase has introduced exclusive benefits in the games Knives Out and Firefly Siege. These rewards are part of a special loyalty program designed for Operation Apocalypse players.
Details of the benefits: Until October 14, 2024, 17:00 (CST), all accounts that have previously logged into Operation Apocalypse will be eligible to claim rewards in Knives Out and Firefly Siege by December 12, 2024, 15:00 (CST). Players can create a new character in the selected game servers through the official NetEase Android links and receive the following benefits: Knives Out: 15-day Golden Gear Experience Card, Rank and Level Boosts, 60 Free Draws for New Users; Firefly Siege: 1 million coins, M4A1 weapon, Level 5 Helmet and Armor, and Weapon Skin Pack.
To recall, Operation Apocalypse started its first beta test, called Star Test, in China on April 11, 2024. The China server fully launched on August 30, 2024. However, on October 14, just under two months after the launch, NetEase Games announced it would close the game and end its operations on December 12, 2024.
The game's failed comeback saddened fans. Operation Apocalypse is the successor to the now-defunct 5v5 hero shooter Hyper Front. The shutdown of the latter, which came without any clear explanation, is largely attributed to issues surrounding its similarities to Riot Games' Valorant; thus, it was dubbed Valorant clone.
