Kongor Studios, composed of former S2 Games developers, Frostburn Studios veterans, and Project Kongor community members, announced the upcoming return of the now-defunct PC MOBA game Heroes of Newerth (HoN).
In collaboration with publisher Garena, Kongor Studios unveiled that HoN is set to make a comeback under a new title, "Heroes of Newerth: Reborn," with "a revamped engine, modern features, and a tribute to its legacy."
The developers said HoN Reborn is scheduled to launch as a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title on the iGames platform. However, no specific release date yet.
Heroes of Newerth, a 2010 PC MOBA cult classic, has a deep strategy and fast-paced gameplay. In June 2022, it shut down its servers, including Garena HoN (Southeast Asia).
Now, HoN Reborn aims to enhance that legacy with major updates and a better player experience. The game blends nostalgia and innovation with over 80 heroes at launch and more planned. The iGames Engine-powered game has improved performance, smoother gameplay, and a new user interface (UI).
