Blizzard announced the "Shattered Sanctuary" update for Diablo Immortal, marking the end of a 2.5-year story journey with the return of Diablo.
In this major update, players can use the angelic blade El'druin to fight against Diablo, who has been fully reborn with the help of the Worldstone.
Further, this latest patch update includes a new main questline, the biggest zone so far, and various endgame activities and systems.
"Shattered Sanctuary" represents the climax of the Age of Unmaking in Diablo Immortal.
Blizzard Southeast Asia provided the highlights of the Shattered Sanctuary update, which you can check out below.
Diablo, The Lord Of Terror
After slowly reconstituting himself with the power of a Worldstone Shard, Diablo, the Lord of Terror, has returned. He has established his domain of terror, flanked by Shardbourne and demons, to twist all of Sanctuary to be his nightmare. The battle with Diablo will be the biggest and baddest boss fight to date, boasting harrowing skills, devilish effects, and higher intensity (and enemy density). The Lord of Terror utilizes both familiar abilities and a range of new powers, courtesy of the reality-altering Worldstone shard at his disposal. Summon the light of El'druin and take this relentless threat head on.
World's Crown
The latest zone in Diablo Immortal is a vast, dark land, littered with corpses, lakes of blood, and ghastly horrors. Venture forth to explore the region, collect bounties, and slay Sharbourne monsters, culminating in the showdown with Diablo himself. Along the way, players will face some of the toughest enemies ever in a Diablo game, including fan-favorite bosses from Diablo 1 and the Lord of Terror's treacherous lieutenants.
Dungeons & Helliquary
Shattered Sanctuary will introduce Challenger Dungeons, boosted dungeon runs with randomized modifiers. This presents an unpredictable new challenge for experienced players, with the offer of extra rewards. The Helliquary will also receive new boss battles, testing players' abilities against formidable foes inspired by the manifestations of Diablo.
Brumaltine
From December 17, 2024, to January 7, 2025, players can look forward to Brumaltine festivities, completing up to three daily tasks in exchange for snow-dusted rewards and progress toward grander Brumaltine prizes. Each weekend, players who log in will receive celebratory gifts. They can also participate in the time-honored Brumaltine tradition of exchanging greeting cards with friends and allies.
