Zenless Zone Zero 1.4 Update is slated for release on December 18, 2024, HoYoverse announced. The latest Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) version 1.4 patch, "A Storm of Falling Stars," features two new agents (Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa), an overhaul of Main Story stages, a major update for Hollow Zero, new areas of Port Elpis and Reverb Arena, and the game's launch on PS5 Pro.
New banners and events with rewards have also been revealed. The banners for ZZZ version 1.4 are the two new characters Harumasa (S-Rank, Electric, Attack) and Miyabi (S-Rank, Frost, Anomaly), with Harumasa given away for free.
Update Overview
The version 1.4 update for Zenless Zone Zero will arrive on PS5 Pro, PS5, PC, and mobile devices on December 18, 2024 (Philippine Time). This patch revamps the TV mode in the main storylines, adding immersive combat and exploration. It will introduce new agents, Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa, from Hollow Special Operations Section 6, marking the final chapter of the year. The update will also bring major changes to Hollow Zero and add new areas, including Port Elpis and Reverb Arena. The game is coming to PS5 Pro, which will feature improved performance and visuals, including Ray Tracing.
Moreover, players will have a chance to get the rank-S character Harumasa for free. Further, all contracted Agents can now be controlled in the city. Additionally, the new Free Roam Mode allows players to spend precious time with agents while strolling through New Eridu.
Optimizations
Zenless Zone Zero's Version 1.4 brings improvements for smoother combat and gameplay. The Main Story stages from the Prologue to Chapter 3 have been redesigned and added to the HDD system. In future updates, the TV mode will be replaced with story stages, letting Proxies jump straight into battles while controlling Eous to explore the Hollows.
All contracted Agents will also now be playable in the city, and a new Quality Time Mode allows Proxies to walk through New Eridu with their Agents.
In combat, Decibels will no longer be shared among squad members, enabling each member to use their Ultimates one after another for more exciting battles. This update also includes a Quick Sweep feature for Shiyu Defense challenges and other optimizations to make progression and character upgrades easier.
Chapter 5
In previous chapters, Proxies became involved in a conspiracy about Sacrifice after the demolition case led by Vision Corporation. In Chapter 5, players will see "old friend" Perlman awaken, revealing hidden truths about Wise and Belle's pasts.
At the same time, New Eridu Public Security is holding a leadership election. As the truth comes out and a new crisis arises, Proxies will team up with Section 6 to explore Port Elpis, where all mysteries will be uncovered as the story reaches its end.
New Characters
Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa, two distinguished members of Section 6, will be unlocked concurrently in addition to the S-Rank Bangboo Agent Gulliver.
Hoshimi Miyabi, the youngest Void Hunter, wields Ethereal-Slaying Katana called Tailless. As a Frost Anomaly Agent, Miyabi can surround her enemies with Icefire, creating a Frost Anomaly and triggering special effects. With her quick movements and accurate slashes, she builds up Fallen Frost to unleash a strong forward attack. This attack deals massive Frost damage before she elegantly puts her blade away.
Asaba Harumasa, as an Electric Agent, can easily switch between using a bow and a sword, mark his targets, and surprise enemies with his active Electro Quivers. Players who reach Inter-Knot Level 8 can get Asaba Harumasa for free when Version 1.4 starts.
In addition to recognizing Miyabi's elegant sword skills, players can also gain insight into Harumasa's concealed past through his special OVA (original video animation).
More Updates
Version 1.4 of Zenless Zone Zero will introduce new combat gameplay modes. This includes the major update called Shadows Lost and a new periodic operation called Deadly Assault.
Players, known as Proxies, will engage in intense battles in the Lost Void with improved support and new equipment. This includes Gear, Resonia, and Bangboo Assist skills. The new Reverb Arena will also host various events featuring a Bangboo-themed tower defense game.
The release date of the Zenless Zone Zero 1.4 update is December 18, 2024, featuring its PS5 Pro debut. The urban fantasy ARPG title is available on various devices: Windows PC, PS5, Android, and iOS.
