Guide on the connectors in the back of the GMA Affordabox device
In the back of the unit, you can find the following:
1. Digital TV signal input (the port for the antenna)
2. Digital TV signal output
3. Digital coaxial output
4. Digital HDTV video output with CEC, HDMI version 1.4 (the port for HDMI cable)
5. Analog audio output (the port for AV cable - red and white)
6. Composite video output (the port for AV cable - yellow)
7. AC cable (the port for the AC plug)
Does GMA Affordabox allow another antenna?
Other than the provided antenna, you can use another antenna for GMA Affordabox. According to ISDB-T standard, it is recommended to use an outdoor antenna mounted on a pole ten (10) meters high.
Is it allowed to use other remote control?
No.
How to scan digital TV Channels in GMA Affordabox?
Step 1. Press the SCAN button on the remote to open the "Do you want to Auto Search?" Window.
Step 2. Press the OK button on the remote control to start the channel search.
Step 3. Wait for the channel search to finish.
It is recommended to re-scan GMA Affordabox when there's an announced advisory on TV or when you notice missing channels.
How to update the software of the GMA Affordabox via USB?
Step 1. Go to gmaaffordabox.com and download the software update. Save the .bin file to your USB flash drive.
Step 2. Insert the USB device into GMA Affordabox.
Step 3. Go to MENU > SYSTEM TAB > SOFTWARE UPDATE > USB UPGRADE > UPGRADE FILES. Select the file you've downloaded.
Step 4. Kindly wait for the software upgrade process to finish. After that, you can watch TV again.
Can the USB port be used?
Yes. The USB port can be used to connect a USB drive to view photos, play music files, and watch videos saved on it.
Is it possible to record shows?
Shows from GMA, GTV, Heart of Asia, and I Heart Movies can be recorded through Instant Recording or Scheduled Recording features. Watch the recorded video using GMA AFFORDABOX only.

Meanwhile, GMA's sister channels, Pinoy Hits and Hallypop, signed off on September 20, 2024.
